Card Chaser collects what it needs to find cards for you and nothing it doesn't. It doesn't sell your information, show ads, or take payments.
What we collect
- Your account. A name and email and a password (stored only as a salted hash, never in readable form). A guest account has no email, only a random ID.
- What you track. The chases and sets you follow, the cards you mark as owned or spare, your trophies, the purchases you choose to log, favorite sellers and shops, and settings such as an alert topic.
- A public trade page, only if you turn it on. The name or nickname you choose, your note, and the cards you list. It can also show up to five favorite cards you pick, and your five best trophies (each trophy's name and the chase it is for, such as an artist or a Pokémon); you can switch the trophies off in Page settings. It does not show your email, and it doesn't show prices for your favorites.
- Prices you choose to share. Only if you say yes (see below).
- Basic technical data. Our hosting provider records things like IP address and device type when you use the site, for security and reliability.
We don't collect payment details, your precise location, your contacts or your photos.
How we use it
To run the service: show your chases and feed, search for the cards you want, send alerts you ask for, and keep the service secure. We search eBay and other sources for cards many people want at once, and those searches are not linked to who is asking.
Prices you choose to share
This is optional and off until you say yes. If you share, then when you log a purchase or finish a trade, Card Chaser keeps the card, the price you paid, the asking price and the market price at the time, where it came from (for example eBay or a shop), whether it was an auction or a fixed price, and, for trades, the cards, conditions and values on each side.
- We do not keep your name or email, the listing link, the seller, or the other person in a trade.
- Each record carries a random code, not your account ID. The code lets us delete your records if you delete your account and count how many different people contributed. It isn't enough, on its own, to tell who you are.
- We combine records into statistics, such as how the prices people pay compare with asking prices, and use them to improve deal scores, market prices and features. We don't sell the records or publish individual ones, and we only show a figure when several records from several people stand behind it.
- Guests can't share prices; you need a saved account. You can turn sharing off in Settings at any time. Statistics already built from your past records stay in the combined numbers.
Who else is involved
- Netlify hosts the app and stores its data.
- eBay. We use its public listing data. When you click an eBay link, eBay and its partner network may set their own cookies so a purchase can be credited to us.
- Card data and images come from services such as pokemontcg.io and Scrydex, with prices from TCGplayer and Cardmarket figures. Your browser loads card images directly from them, so they can see your IP address.
- ntfy.sh, only if you turn on phone alerts. Alert text passes through it, and anyone who knows your topic name can read it, so keep it private.
We don't share your collection with other users. Your trade page is the only thing others can see, and only if you publish it.
On your device
The app keeps a sign-in token, your filters and an in-progress trade in your browser's local storage. It sets no tracking cookies and uses no advertising or analytics trackers.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your information until you delete it. In Settings you can download a backup of your data and delete your account, which removes your account, your shared-price records and everything else stored with it. Accounts that go unused for a long time may be removed.
Your choices
You can access, correct or delete your information from Settings, or by emailing catchem@cardchaser.app. We do not sell personal information, including under California law.
Children
Card Chaser isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Security
We protect passwords with hashing and limit sign-in attempts. No service is perfectly secure, so use a password you don't use elsewhere.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and, for big changes, tell you in the app.
